Touring around Penang island and found this hidden gem near our hotel when we were craving for a hearty western breakfast toast meal. Weekday morning with little crowd, great ambience and perfect selection of music, making it the perfect experience for us. Of course, the bagel and avocado toast are delicious~
Nice quite cafe, spacious and a good place if u need to work offside. Coffee is nice and so are the brownies and their breakfast wrap. There is a few parking lots available to park at the driveway
If you are a fan of lobster, truffles, Wagyu beef, Iberico pork, oysters, etc, you may try out this restaurant. Definitely it will fill your taste buds with satisfaction. There are variety of wines to choose as well.If you are not a fan of high end food, they are few meals with normal cafe price as well.Overall taste is good for us, only my wagyu Don is not really suit me, as I am not a fan of black pepper sauce. The beef is still nice.
The food is extremely good, not kidding. The taste of each dish we tried were so on point and flavourful. Highly recommended. Will definitely visit again. Service is good. The staffs were polite and helpful. However parking can be difficult.
Tldr; A pink color themed restaurant with mediocre western food and good service. The catch is, the price isn’t worth it. It has a membership system where you can benefit from the price but it requires you to top up beforehand, hence you have to pay an inflated price if you’re not their member, which isn’t ideal. Really wouldn’t recommend it if you're looking for a fine dining experience. But if you’re really into pink, you can give it a try.Review:I’ve had their tomato soup, oysters, drunken clam and angus beef burger. The tomato soup is served with a piece of garlic bread, which is very crunchy and buttery. It goes really well with the tomato soup. However the tomato soup itself is not creamy enough for me(I like creamy tomato soups compared to the lighter ones). The second dish presented was their oysters. It wasn’t a good experience. I’ve ordered 3 oysters, 2 of them were warm and the other one was still frozen at the core, and they don’t taste fresh either. Really wouldn’t recommend it.The third dish, drunken clam, which was introduced by the waiter is really good. The clams were very fresh and tasty. The soup is also very flavourful embedded with the sweetness of the clams, it was very nice. The main dish, their angus beef burger, was disappointing to say the least. The whole burger is very dry. The patty was way overcooked. For an Angus beef burger that costs RM55, I expect at least some juiciness from the patty, but it was just very dry. I can only see one little pink spot at one of the bite, and nowhere else.As for their service, it was really good, especially the male waiter over there. He is very polite, keen to introduce stuff and gives good honest suggestions on the food. The food service was alright as well.Let’s talk about their environment, it was clean, slightly old and really pinkish. Not my style really.Overall an overpriced restaurant with okay-ish food. Their service was good but it doesn’t do good enough for me to recommend to others.Food: ★★☆☆☆Service: ★★★★☆Environment: ★★★☆☆Typical Spending Range: RM50~RM100/pax
Great find near the coastline of Georgetown, this cafe is definitely a good place to chill and have coffee/food after a long day of walking around.. Only downside is that it closes early (same with other places in the area).
It's my third visit since the first a few years back. Don't get me wrong. Nothing to do with the food. Simply because the pocket hurts =PWell, that's because this place serves dishes that're really pleasant to your taste buds compared to averag-ish western food choices in other cafes. Also, their Aussie Iced Caffe Latte is second to none on the island. Initially I was hesitated to order because it's priced at RM18, but my gawd, the first sip blew me away. It could taste a tad sweet, however, for people without a sweet tooth. The cafe is spacious and has a lightwell, making it a great place for catch-ups. There are also local reads about Penang's history for sale =)No comments about the presentable bakeries and confectionaries as I haven't tried them.I'm keeping that one star for their room of improvement. 'Cause I hope that they'll lower the food price or come up with affordable dishes that are good as the ones on the menu =P
A rustic and cosy cafe located in the heart of George Town heritage area. The cafe has a menu which is more catered for breakfast/brunch, but there are some options on the menu to fill up one’s tummy. They have a wide variety of beverages, ranging from caffeinated, non-caffeinated, soft drinks, right up to beers(!).Their choice of desserts are quite limited though - they don’t serve cakes or something similar.
Good coffee (could have been fair bit hotter) and nice western style breakfasts.Lovely rustic building inside with an indoor courtyard feel.We had the smoked salmon toast and Avocado Toast 3 Ways (last photo) although bread was warmed, rather than toasted. Perhaps menu should say “toast 3 ways” as only 1 slice is topped with some avocado.
Taste: 3/5 ⭐ | Service: 4/5 ⭐ | Ambience: 5/5 ⭐Price: RM86.80 | Number of pax: 2We ordered Dirty Orange, Iced Hojicha Latte, Avocado Toast 3-Ways and Hungarian Breakfast. Drinks were okay, not bad. The name of the toast was a little misleading and we assumed it was going to be 3 types of avocado toast. It was just 3 types of toast (1 of it being avocado toast). As for the Hungarian Breakfast, we found it a little too heavy because the hollandaise sauce plus the poached egg is too rich. The Hungarian sausage does balance it out a little.Best item of the visit: Dirty OrangeWill we return: MaybeFollow on Instagram @mealtimeagain
The portion of clam was satisfying. Didn’t as spicy as I thought, the spiciness come from ginger. But overall the taste was not bad. Their black coffee was not bad too. Variety of food selection (all looks good !) the space was large enough to host big gathering
Food here is 👍🏻👍🏻 especially the wine sauce series it must try. the Guinness sauce also surprisingly taste good but still cant beat the wine sauce.the chicken parmigiana is also 👍🏻👍🏻price range is on the higher side but food comes in slightly bigger portion thn those common restaurants.will definitely come again. highly recommended!private parking at the side of the cafe.Food: 5/5Price: $$~$$$Environment: 4.5/5Service: 4.5/5
Nice setting and atmosphere, perhaps best for teatime. I had the red wine sauce chicken, and it was rather oily for me, and just tasted like ordinary chicken chop. The kombucha was interesting. I couldnt drink much, but my friends enjoyed it.Staff were pleasant and helpful.
We came here because of the review but everything is not ready up to expectation. First, it is really hard and bad to find a parking place, at the end we have to illegally parked at the corner of the main road. Second, when seated, we were asked to sit on the left room (while the right room is empty and cozy) whereby all tables are occupied and noisy. Third, the food took a long time to serve due to lack of manpower, basically this is not a place for food if you are hungry, be prepared to wait more than 40 mins. Forth, the worst, we ordered Vegetarian Cabonara and it is tasteless, only capsicum flavour, nothing else, imaging spaghetti cooked in clear milk water, that's my feeling. The Colombia coffee thta we ordered, it is not really hot, lurk warm if I may put it. I gave 3 star for the coffee and the ice-cream waffle which is good (but the menu is misleading, it stated in the menu that the waffle is enough for 3 person, not true, it is good for only 1-2 person sharing). The ambiance is good but please don't squeeze everyone into a small room, that's the worst practice especially we are still facing the risk of Covid-19.
The foods and beverages was delicious with great environment. Excellent place to spend some quality time with friends. The portion of the food was large and worth paying the money. Friendly staff and great customer service. Looking forward to visit the cafe again. Thank you.
Go there for breakfast. A nice and cozy cafe deco with pot plant. They do sell the plants too. Love the ambience and the service, just need to wait a bit longer for the foods. Personally the foods taste ok only, a bit too hard for begel. Overall still a nice place to hangout with friends and family.Food : 3.5 starsEnvironment : 4 starsValue for money : 4 starsWorth to try : 3.5 stars
Chicken cutlet is good normally other place will not put much attention to their side salad for but this place their salad is really good pair with mango and pomegranate really goes well with the fried chicken 👍🏻The wakame salad is good. Someone is a pro at cutting find the onion but the sauce dressing taste doesn’t match
Signature spicy chicken chopFried zucchiniClam with white wineVisited Grain Modern Food few years back and the experience was pleasant. Super delicious. The spicy gravy was fantastic, a must-try for those who are looking for a twist from ordinary chicken chop. It would be nice if they could offer variety of fried vegetables or legumes, instead of just zucchini. Clam was served in generous portion, milky and thoroughly "wined" 😋😋😋
Great food and nice place. Service was excellent. Recommended
Great little pub/bar with good atmosphere and awesome decor inside. Located just off the beaten track behind some of the larger bars but worth going around the corner for. Food was good too, burgers were very tasty (little bit overcooked to our liking).
The perfect place to chill with your friends or on your own. The bartender was super friendly & welcoming as well. I tried their recommended cocktail (Junk Gin if I'm not mistaken) and it was superb. Very refreshing, citrussy with good amount of booze. They play good music as well and the environment was not too loud unlike other bars. They have exquisite decorations inside so it can be the perfect backdrop for your Instagram. Would love to come again when I'm visiting Penang next time.
This is a bar you stumbled in by luck, and when you arrive you will meet great people in the staff, skilled in their craft. The vibe of the place are groovy cool, and with the beautiful ornaments and Picuralities around the place The barkeeper always has a smile, and are making hell of God good drinks. For the week I stayed in penang, this was my second home. If you're like me, not for the mass boring bars, this is the place. I highly recommend this place
We went there on weekday around lunch hour and we are seated near the entrance. Love their environment, ambient, and the vibe. The bar looks nice, the staff is friendly at least to us.We ordered two drinks and one dessert since we had lunch earlier. The grape fruit cold brew is surprisingly interesting and refreshing at the same time. The dessert is OK.
Lovely cafe located at Love Lane (with adequate car park next door at RM5 per entry), this place offers a pretty decent variety of western cuisine such as pizza, pasta and meat and fish dishes on top of great coffee!Prices are reasonable for Malaysian standard (cost of living has gone up so much over the years!) and food taste good 👍
Nice view, nice ambience nice music and lighting, you get to drink and listen to the wave, right in front of the sea. Pasta is okay, but not so satisfied with the seafood fritter for 2 at RM45. Portion is embarrassingly small. Cocktail is cheap, taste quite okay at the price.
Inside 32 Masion, plenty car park. Come here for good view and super windy after rain. Foods are normal and slightly high. At night should have live band. If you like beer is nicer to chill. Quite relaxing.
Edelweiss Cafe is a unique cafe in Georgetown. Lots of antique stuff, cool beer and tasty food. Don't miss when you are in here!!!
hot environment, no air conditioning. Even is open air, we still need some cold air, especially in Penang Malaysia. Suggest to install one floor air conditioner. Although food is very authentic and taste good.
Came here with friends for an after dinner drink. The owner and staff were super welcoming and friendly, the space was very charming in ambience and decor. The drinks were really good and i had a great time visiting the cafe. Would definitely come again when in Penang. Highly recommend!!
Food quality and ambiance are average. Nothing to shout about. Staff are attending. Price is on the average as well. Two main dishes and one tomato juice cost 66. Tomato juice is a let down. Didn’t finish it. 90% water and 10% tomato.
a nice cozy place to chill for lunch or dinner. The food is good and the place is clean. It is usually quite busy so expect to wait around 10 minutes minimum for your orders. The interior deco is simplistic but nice. Really enjoyed coming!♪ヽ(・ˇ∀ˇ・ゞ)
Food was served fast and priced reasonably. Overall, Affordable and satisfying meal. it is a great family restaurant to check outLocation: 01-01-11, Elit Avenue, 11900 Bayan Lepas, MalaysiaContact :6019-289 3231
Food quality getting deteriorated. The chicken chop was very dried and seems overcooked, the fish and chip was really bad too…very hard, like putting the sandals into the mouth. Used to be my favourite western food place, but now no more after the bad dinning experience.
Affordable and satisfying meal. Extensive menu hence will face some difficulties in choosing what to eat because everything looks great. Service yet to improve.
I love this place! Fantastic food and I really like the overall ambience, food and service. Will come again. The pizza crusts were thin and crispy . Also had the clam chowder that was served in a nice bread bowl. Recommended! 👍
Nice environment. A bit short of staffs but overall the service is consider pleasant and food was tasty and I enjoyed the dinner very much.Mushroom soup with bread taste good, 4season pizza was flavourful with a crunchy crust. Their seafood spaghetti looks great but taste a bit bland maybe because the mussel is not as fresh.Overall good dining experience.Price is slightly above average and who cares about money if you had a amazing dinner out with loves one.
We love this cafe and we’re here 3 times in two days. We just love the concrete interior with greenery style. The coffee drinks were great and you can see the staff working diligent to ensure quality of every drink.
One fine place to chit chat and enjoy good food. They serve various main courses, desserts and drinks. Their menu is rather distinctive, a common dish could be presented in a quirky way. Chicken Karaage Burger, Smoked Salmon, and Pulled Pork are highly recommended. Dessert wise their brownie was pleasing. Commodious, decorated with plants and pebbles. Hipster no doubt.
Great service these days is indeed rare- and I’m happy to write that Two Frenchies does serve up exceptional service. The wait staff were welcoming, polite, friendly and very well trained. Kudos to them and thank you for making our dinner a most pleasant one in terms of service. We like that it’s a dog friendly place too.The bread and butter slices were delicious and served as a good starter to whet your appetite. We ordered the French roast chicken and it was beautifully presented. The best part about the dish was the roasted garlic head - It was scrumptiously fragrant and literally melts to the touch. The mushroom sauce on the side was a great accompaniment too. Unfortunately the roast chicken itself underwhelms. The salmon stew was okay at first but the more scoops we took in, the more bland it tasted. In hindsight, I should have just requested for a little table salt - it may have made a big difference.Nevertheless, I would say the whole dining experience was still not too bad. The decor of the place is cozy yet suitably intimate. A nice upscale place to catch up with friends over a glass of wine.
Let starts with this statement. Best French food I ever had. Whatever I ordered from this restaurant I was so so satisfied with it. Except the portion for the ravioli is too small. The port chop was juicy and melted in your mouth. The clams was awesomely tasty. The steak ordered raw and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Melted in my mouth when eaten. So so nice. Beef burger was delicious. Actually no complaints here. Ambiance is good. Service is fantastic. You guys should come. Highly recommended.
Delicious pasta served at this authentic Italian restaurant! My favourite was the Linguine Pasta with mixed seasonal seafood in rich tomato sauce baked in a foil bag; absolutely delectable which kept us wanting more! 🤌🏻 Love the hospitable service provided by the friendly servers who made our dinner experience fantastic! Will drop by again to try the pizza!
So far my favourite Italian restaurant in Penang which serves the most authentic Italian cuisine. Every dish satisfied my taste buds and tummy! Muackvelous! In Chinese saying, 放心吃,不踩雷! Remember to make reservation before u go, seats are limited. And don't forget to order some desserts after your meal, their desserts are fantastic!
Great Western food with unique pie. Need to try at least once. Environment might be abit packed and also got some mosquitoes but for the foods 👌👌👌 tasty, savoury and delicious
1st time here even though I have heard about how marvellous this place is.Upon reaching this restaurant, the immediate positive reaction was there are already a huge crowds patiently waiting their turn to dine in coz seating are very limited here (can't blame the owner coz the western delights are served right from their terraced home unit).Of course the verdict of the foods we randomly ordered matches the swelling crowds (even though it started drizzling). I ordered the chicken mushroom pie dip in the creamy soup together with Gordon Bleu & lamb shank. The pie & Gordon Bleu was absolutely ravishing but the lamb shank aromatic was slightly dull in taste. I suspected that probably it was due to high expectation from the first two dishes that sort of dampen the expectation.Nevertheless, the food was top notch with very affordable pricing. Definitely will make few more trips to savour the remaining dishes on menu.
Celebrating my husband birthday here. The food was superb, the butter chilli clam was so good. Staff was nice and service is good. Definitely will repeat again. 5⭐! Kudos👍
This is for wine shop signature. Good environment and the food was quite good too! I enjoyed the iberico pork ribs!
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and make great recommendations. Great place tor gathering, definitely will come back again
